Description

HI-93706-01 PHOSPHORUS REAGENT, AMINO ACID METHOD.

The HI-93706-01 are reagents for the colorimetric determination of phosphorus. There are enough reagents for 100 tests to be used with a compatible benchtop or portable photometer. These high quality reagents are clearly marked with the lot number and expiry date on each bottle and packet for traceability. 0.0 to 15.0 mg/L. 100 tests.

The HI-93706-01 are high quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate colorimetric measurements. The method is an adaptation of the Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, 18th edition, Amino Acid method.

The reaction between phosphate and reagents causes a blue tint in the sample. By simply adding the reagents to the sample, a reaction will take place and a compatible benchtop or portable meter can be used to determine the concentration from the colour that is produced. The results will be displayed in mg/L (ppm) of phosphorus (P). These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0.0 to 15.0 mg/L phosphorus.

These reagents do not measure reactive, acid hydrolyzable or total phosphorus. Separate reagents must be ordered to measure these forms of phosphorus with the appropriate meter.
Phosphorus reagent for use with the Hanna HI-96706, HI-83200, HI-83206, HI-83208, HI-83225 and HI-83099 & HI-833 series photometers.

Tip for an accurate measurement.
It is important that the sample does not contain any debris.
When the cuvette is placed into the measurement cell, it must be dry outside and completely free of fingerprints, oil or dirt. Wipe it thoroughly with HI-731318 or a lint-free cloth prior to insertion.
Shaking the cuvette can generate bubbles, causing higher readings. To obtain accurate measurements, remove such bubbles by swirling or by gently tapping the cuvette. Do not let the reacted sample stand for too long after reagent is added, or accuracy will be lost.
After the reading, it is important to discard the sample immediately, otherwise the glass might become permanently stained.
